As with Portal, also from the Flow States collection, this view is from Rialto Beach on the Olympic Peninsula. The rock formations out there were sculptural on an epic scale, proving again that Mother Nature has a terrific design sense. The main formation at the center of this image is really two arrowshead shapes nestled in together, so they changed in relationship to one another as you walked along the beach. I easily took a few dozen photos of just this feature as I proceeded towards the Hole-int-the-Wall at the end. The underlying collage is made of pages from antique woodblock-printed Japanese books.
