Statement
I am a visual artist living in Brightlingsea on the Essex coast.
I am particularly interested in the intersection of past, present and future and how all our experiences are stitched together to make us who we are. Memory and experience are recalled and expressed by leaving a visual history of how the work was made. My work is often multi layered and highly textured which represents the rich tapestry of my life and experience.
A strong belief in the importance and value of creativity underpin my practice. My work is firmly rooted in the formal qualities of art making with a particular emphasis on composition and colour.
Following ten years of art making and exhibiting, I formalised my education by undertaking a BA Fine Art degree at Colchester School of Art, I am expected to graduate in 2024 with a first class degree.
I have been running workshops with the public since 2019, these have included Paint Nights and Abstract Art courses both in person and online.
Since May 2023 I have been an artist in residence at Brightlingsea Lido.
