Christine Emond is a mixed media artist who does landscapes, abstracts and figurative work,. She has been working in the field as a painter and a teacher over the last 20 years . Getting her BA of Arts in painting from California State University, Northridge and being part ‘gypsy’, she has exhibited along the west coast, the south and now the Midwest. She is inspired by the hiking trails, lakes and rivers of Kansas and Oklahoma’s landscape and has recently ventured out to the mountains of Wyoming. The colors and textures along with her own reflections and interpretations on place have inspired her current work.
Statement
I love the creative process of painting. Inspired by a place, a song, or an experience, I use metaphor and the language of art to reflect on what I’ve lived. Art gives me an outlet to express my life, and I aspire to uplift my viewers by connecting them to the complex emotions of the human heart
