Each of the pieces in the Parc André Citroën Series of 100 Paintings is inspired by the afternoon spent sketching and wandering in solitude through the park in August of 2020. The intention for the series is to express the experience of being in various sections of the park rather than the expression of what I actually saw in the park. What I saw triggered a kaleidoscope of memories and feelings.
No. 12 is one of five panels that were informed by my initial view of the park's landscape. A grouping of bushes pruned into spheres contrasted strangely with the adjacent clusters of grasses and unpruned shrubbery. Small glimpses of glass could be seen through the trunks and branches of some of the trees.
