MessageCollection: Wabi Sabi Waterways
These vary from most of my other work; after my product sponsors Marabu and Grafix supplied me with their new line of alcohol ink and craft plastic surfaces, I supplied them with lesson plans and MANY small studies. Once I completed that, I was itching to do something more spontaneous, complicated, and BIGGER!
These are the result. 98% of this was done without use of a brush. I have always loved liquid processes and the shapes water creates; loose organic shapes of puddles or lakes, the way streams branch off, the eroding drips of sediment, the tide marks the ocean leaves on the beaches... so that was my intention to let the liquid dictate the direction.....
The term Wabi Sabi can mean “Living with simplicity while being at one with nature and focusing on finding beauty within the imperfections of life and accepting peacefully the natural cycle of growth and decay.” And with that in mind, I let the liquid dictate the direction for this series. Most were done immediately after looking at photos of oceans, waves, surf and beach.
