MessageI’m an artist and writer deeply informed and inspired by (great) mother nature. I’m a joyful sister, wife, mother and grammy.
Growing up in a small town in Michigan, I was swaddled by deepest green moss and hugged by families of trees, while having sassafras tea with my older sisters. Daily summer rituals involved joyful gathering of Dandelion and Queen Anne’s Lace bouquets — placed in pickle jars.
The lake was my sanctuary; In summer I swam with sunfish who believed I was their sister – before I actually learned to swim. Maybe they saved me, like my sister once did. I was the first one in and the last one out of the water, so compelling was my love affair.
I was raised by my mother and two sisters in a home with few rules and lots of love, steeped in whatever my imagination could create. My grandmother was my safe haven when I needed one. She taught me the value of grandmothering and that food is love.
My second mom was mother nature. She taught me frogs can be really big and trees can talk and the scents of summer are intoxicating.
Today, these same elements of play capture my truest life expression. Creating art that inspires others is central to who I am; one that leads me down dirt-paths, wooded trails, and wide-open spaces.

Artist Statement
My art is play—a spontaneous act of possibility that comes alive on a page or canvas. It's designed to evoke joy, light, and a sense of adventure, achieved through bold colors, rich textures, or simple lines in a small sketchbook. I delight in being surprised by my creations.
Drawing inspiration from nature and people, my art embodies the belief that everyone has an inner artist. When my light shines through a piece, it serves as an invitation for others to discover their own light.
I embrace creativity as a practice rather than a quest for perfection, which is evident in the diverse mediums and styles within my work. I paint primarily with watercolors, acrylics and inks, incorporate texture using objects and paper scraps for collage, and have a profound love for monoprinting. Using everything at my disposal, I celebrate the absence of rules in creative expression.
