Charlie Hunter is a cheerful guy who paints drippy portraits of decaying American infrastructure in Bellows Falls, Vermont.
MessageOne of the good things about the internet, besides cat videos, is the ability to find a group of like-minded people. I really like railroad infrastructure (in case you couldn't tell already), and am always on the lookout for good source material depicting signals, semaphores and crossing gates. One day, perusing the Signals, Semaphores and Crossing Gates group on Flickr, I came across the photography of Cade Smith. Cade is a magnificent photographer of trains and their habitat, and has been kind enough to let me develop a number of paintings from images of his. I often radically change the locale of a particular bit of railroad detritus, but I figure the chances of a member of the Signals, Semaphores and Crossing Gates group calling me out on it ("Hey! That photo of Cade's shows a USS single target in the swamps of Louisiana and you moved it to Utah or somewhere") are pretty slim.
