My name is Lily McKenna Elkes, I am currently 14 years old, and in my freshman year of high school. I'm from Greensboro, North Carolina and I enjoy doing mixed media arts and crafts along with my resin business; McKenna's Art. During my time spent pouring/creating resin pieces including coasters, trays, candle holders, pens, key chains, vases, and even jewelry, I tend to become a little overwhelmed. Painting with oil typically allows me to relieve stress and put together a piece of artwork that many can enjoy as well as be inspired by. Although the early months of Covid put me on a bit of a painters block, I've recently started delving back into painting animals, fruits, and other things that bring me comfort. At first, my room was the base of operations, but back in February of 2020, I was able to move into a nice, open space for all of my materials, pieces, and works in progress. I'm very grateful to be able to showcase my newest oil painting entitled “A Bit of Self Confidence” for the 100 for 100 art sale fundraiser for the Center of Visual Artists.
