Celeste Dumonceaux Delahey
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Celeste Dumonceaux Delahey is a Saskatchewan based landscape artist.
MessageCeleste Dumonceaux Delahey grew up on a farm in southern Saskatchewan but has lived in Saskatoon for most of her adult life. She has been painting for 12 years and has displayed her creative side through many avenues prior to painting.
Celeste completed the University of Saskatchewan Certificate in Art and Design program 12 years ago where she discovered her love of acrylic painting. From the beginning she was drawn to painting the landscape and was particularly attracted to the beautiful prairie scenes, especially clouds and skies. While growing up on a farm she was surrounded by the vast space and open fields. From the bright blue skies with fascinating cloud formations to the incredible jewel-toned sunsets and dark, brooding, grey storms rolling in, she strives to paint the joy she feels while experiencing the beauty of the prairies. Saskatchewan is home to many lakes and forests, rolling hills, creek beds, and gentle valleys. These places of natural beauty make their way into her paintings as well. Celeste paints the landscape in hopes the viewer will see the power of the prairie atmosphere, the gentleness of a setting sun, and the diverse beauty of the land. She also enjoys experimenting with portraying the landscape through colourful abstracts.
Celeste paints with the Artists’ Workshop group and enjoys being part of the art community in Saskatoon. Her artwork is part of many personal collections throughout Canada.
