With a loose but controlled grip on his colored pencils, he strikes the paper repeatedly, making his characteristic mark. As Eliot communicates only through gesture and facial expression, it is hard to know what these powerful drawings mean to him. His smiling, wrinkled face and his spry, animated energy make for a singular presence in the studio.
