Cody focuses mostly on the expressive use of colored pencil in working to create detailed and intimate small-scale drawings. In recent explorations with acrylic paint, Cody has developed exuberant, brightly colored paintings that explore a loose brushstroke to achieve an almost abstract quality.
He is a close observer of nature, inspired in much of his work by his pet rat, who travels with Cody in a special carrier and is well-known around town. Cody’s compassion for animals, for his friends, and wider community come through in the work he does as a volunteer for local organizations as well as in his artwork.
