Colonial Williamsburg Butcher

He might actually be a cook, but I had the notion to do a threesome of the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker. As of this writing, I've not even started the baker painting and I learned that the candlestick making is only done on rare occasions these days but I'm hoping as a regular visitor to Colonial Williamsburg, to see them at work some day soon. As an artist, I loved the contrast of his head against the darkness of the very large hearth behind him. The arrangement of the food created it's own little still life within this figurative painting.
