I created this drawing while at my family’s cottage on Lake Orion, Michigan. The enameled floral pattern echoes the table cloth on the large table I worked at everyday and enjoyed meals with my extended family. The table was right outside our bedroom window, with a half-open window and box fan separating us. There was no real privacy or place to be alone. On top of that, I have had troubles sleeping during the pandemic, and was waking up at any trivial sound including my boyfriend whistling while sleeping. I would have liked this soothing blue scene to have been my dreamscape.
