I love oil painting landscapes as historical records. Pristine meadows, barns, textures from plowed fields. I want to preserve the past before it vanishes into urban sprawl and farms become only fleeting memories.
I was born in Brooklyn, NY and spent my childhood summers in Rhinebeck, New York.
At 15, while attending Washington Irving High School in Greenwich Village, I worked at the Gaslight Coffee Shop and became part of the '60s artistic and Cultural Revolution. I earned a scholarship to study oil painting at NYU.
At 18, I boarded a Yugoslavian freighter bound for Morocco. The next two years I lived in Tangiers and Spain. My first solo show was in Torremolinos, Spain.
Returning to America, I moved to Malibu, California and joined the ranks of the Hollywood community.
My art has been exhibited at the Pacific Design Center, the Armand Hammer Museum and Cultural Center, and the New York Art Expo.
My passion for world travel has taken me to India, Southeast Asia and Europe. I currently live in the exquisite Suisun Valley (near Napa).
My landscapes and ceramics can be found in public, corporate and private collections.
Statement
My art is about saving the beauty of history. Of farmlands, homesteads and unspoiled nature.
I believe God resides in the beauty of our earth and sky.
