Conceptual recreation of passage 29 of Paradise from the 'Divina Commedia" by Dante Alighieri to participate in a exhibition of 200 ilustrations of the book that is going to be held in Italy per la Fondazione Arte Contemporanea, that commemorates the 700 years that have passed since the death of Dante Alighieri.
Paradiso 29 -was the part of the book that called my attention and the inspiration for this artwork. ‘Angels never turn their gaze from the face of God, in Whom they see all things’
As it's a contemporary exhibition I started painting a barbed men representing the classical image of God but as always, reflecting over the canvas the thought of the passage of the Genesis 1:27 of the Bible came to my mind: 'So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he crated them' so I decided to paint my interpretation of that passage of the Divina Commedia according to my interpretation of this passage of the Bible.
The male barbed figure was transformed into a feminine figure of God, omnipresent in the sky and similar to each one of us, in this case an image similar to myself. Her dress and the Angel resemblant clouds, in my imagination what they should wear to avoid so the human eye can’t see them from afar while they care for the world from the distance 💙
