Carlo Brunelli
Verona, Veneto
I create artworks and immersive installations exploring relationships between people, place and the living world.
MessageBorn in Soave, Italy, in 1975, Carlo Brunelli developed from an early age a close relationship with nature and with the connections between people, place and environment, themes that continue to shape his artistic practice today.
After studying Industrial Design in Padua and completing a Master’s degree in Automotive Design at Coventry University, he worked internationally in design and creative direction. Over time, his focus shifted beyond commercial frameworks towards a more open artistic practice centred on process, place and human experience.
In 2020, he opened his studio-gallery in the historic centre of Verona, a space that gradually evolved into an immersive artistic environment where painting, sound, organic matter, light and human presence enter into dialogue.
Through artworks, installations and participatory environments, Brunelli explores relationships between people, place and the living world. Rather than imposing predetermined forms, his work creates conditions where time, matter and experience can meet, allowing natural forces and human participation to become active contributors to the process.
In 2023, he founded wʌn (We Art Nature), an evolving platform bringing together art, nature and participation through immersive and site-responsive experiences.
Today, his work is presented through paintings, installations and collaborative projects that investigate how relationships with places, materials and living systems shape the way we inhabit the world.
Statement
My work begins with a relationship.
A relationship with a landscape, a material, a memory, a community or a specific place.
Through painting, installation and participatory projects, I create conditions where time, matter and human experience can meet. Rather than imposing a predetermined form, I work through processes that allow natural forces, environmental conditions and human participation to become active contributors to the work itself.
Water, air, heat, gravity and colour are not simply materials. They are collaborators within a process that reveals traces of transformation, memory and connection.
My site-responsive installations bring together natural elements, technology and human presence, creating environments where relationships between people and their surroundings can become more visible and tangible.
At the core of my practice is an exploration of how we relate to the living world and to one another. Through immersive experiences and artworks, I invite people to slow down, pay attention and rediscover their place within a larger field of relationships.
Each project becomes an opportunity to listen, connect and participate in the continuous process of becoming.
Each artwork begins with a relationship.
A relationship with a landscape, a material, a memory, or a specific place.
Through processes involving water, gravity, air and time, each work emerges from an encounter rather than an act of control.
Nature is not represented. It actively participates.
Every piece carries the traces of a unique relationship between place, process and attention.
No two works can be repeated.
Philosophy
Nature, matter and time are not subjects represented in the work.
They are active contributors to its creation.
Water, air, heat, gravity and colour participate in a process that reveals traces of transformation, memory and connection.
Each artwork is part of an ongoing exploration of the relationships between people, place and the living world.
