Shadows with Spaces is a textured abstract landscape that captures the intensity of a fiery distant horizon. Measuring 13" x 13" x 1.5" framed in maple hardwood, the piece uses oil and cold wax to build rich layers of burnt orange, deep red, and yellow tones. Thick, wide strokes create movement across the panel, with soft mounting whites suggesting light breaking through. Dark, almost silhouetted shapes along the horizon provide depth and contrast, anchoring the composition.
