This body of work sits at the intersection of intuition, process, and reflections. These pieces evolved as a call-and-response process. The images are filtered through memory, feeling, ideas, and materials. They are an attempt to express a sense of awe and wonder often sparked by surprise or ephemeral moments of beauty. In this series figuration and abstraction coexist, as the dance of spark and flame, concept and form - multiple ways of speaking the same idea - describe the light, and articulate the sensation of a place or moment. I intend these paintings to reflect beauty and be a window to spirit.

An ongoing series of experimental pieces that play with paint, water, evaporation, and time. Holding the sacred space of creating for the sake of creation, without an end goal in mind, to see what happens is a challenge. In the world of press deadlines, exhibition planning, personal obligations, malfunctioning bodies, traffic jams, and late busses, time to play - so critical to being human, often gets put on the back burner or lopped off the list altogether. Time for play and experimentation is critical to my working process and general mental health. This project has reminded me of the importance of harnessing the power of play in and out of the studio.
