From the Serengeti to the battlefield to the chain gang. The cycle of plantation to prison for Black men is extremely complex, a Patriotic Plantation to Prison Pipeline. In spite of enslavement and persecution,Black men still had a desire to enlist and serve for a country that was and arguably still is unwilling to fight for them and their inalienable rights. Numerous soldiers have fallen victim to the violent mobs of white supremacy. The artist uses Black butterflies to symbolize the souls of the lynched soldiers. Enslavement-Enlistment-Incarceration
