A long time ago, all the birds gathered to decide which among them should be declared king. Unable to come to any agreement, they finally decided that whichever among them could fly the highest would have the honor of being declared "king of the birds."
The next day, the birds met to see who could fly the highest. All the birds put in their best effort, but it was ultimately the eagle, with its powerful wings, that was able to fly the highest. The eagle flew until it was too tired to fly any higher, and began thinking about being crowned king.
Unbeknownst to the eagle, however, the small wren had snuck onto the eagle's back, and when the eagle could no longer fly any higher, the wren took flight and flew just a little higher than the eagle.
In the end, it was the wren that was crowned "king of the birds" not because of his power, but because of his cunning.
