AZASAZI ECLIPSE
In the chill of an October morning
The Anasazi ruins perfectly frame the annular solar eclipse
What would I have witnessed, standing in this same room 1000 years ago?
What people would stand together, viewing the heavens?
How would they interpret this celestial event?
There is no answer for me
These walls remain silent
ABOUT THIS ARTWORK
This photograph of the annular (ring) solar eclipse of 2023 was taken through a window in the Anasazi ruins of Pueblo Bonito in Chaco Culture National Historical Park, NM, USA. The photograph is a high dynamic range (HDR) image compositing two photographs taken in rapid succession from the same location: one exposure set for the solar eclipse, and the other exposure set for the Anasazi ruins.
It is available as a limited-release animated digital video that is pre-loaded into a digital frame. It includes mounting hardware for hanging on the wall. The digital frame can also display additional photos and videos that you can install.
NOTES:
- The digital frame requires access to a 120V power outlet, so please plan placement accordingly.
- Because the narrative is part of the video, digital frame orders do not include a separate acrylic plaque for the narrative.
