Sacred Spaces find me when I am on a hike or looking out my morning window with a cup of coffee in hand. There is a glow of light that shimmers through the trees and promises a fresh start. The light fills the sky with a magic that lasts only a few minutes and fills my mind with possibilities. With each sunrise I am reminded of life’s preciousness and the gift of each moment. I am witnessing a miracle as the orange glow dissolves into fuschia. These few seconds of wonder have fascinated me for years. I sketch them whenever I go. The stark contrast between the bare trees of winter and the warm pull of a new day speaks to my soul. These little whispers call me to pay attention to my life and find the Divine in each day. The trees have a calmness that lifts the heaviness of life.
