In Windy Pouch Cove where seagulls soar,
A girl with eyes like the ocean's lore,
Lost her yellow sou'wester, a tale evermore.
This painting was executed on raw un-stretched cotton duck canvas affixed to my studio wall at Pouch Cove Foundation in Newfoundland. The view is a long angle curve of the cove with it's rugged and lichen covered rocks and cliffs. A red dory in the distance, perhaps the girl lost her hat when she swam ashore. Only the ocean will ever know. A combination of fluid, heavy body and gouache acrylics were employed in achieving a velvet-like and powdery texture on raw canvas.
