“My paintings capture a feeling. They invite you to find your own personal connection to that feeling.”
MessageI’m Bonny Shilton, an abstract artist based in Trumbull County, Ohio — and I paint feelings.
Making art lets me express who I am. And, sharing it lets me find out if other people can relate. Art helps us connect to our tribe. Sometimes in person. Sometimes through the ethers.
My paintings capture a feeling. They invite you to find your own personal connection to that feeling.
I'm obsessed with creating original art that rivals what you'll find at Restoration Hardware and Arhaus Furniture. It's rewarding to know my art can enhance a home and help make it a place where the residents feel comfortable and inspired.
My passion for interior design began when I started working in my father’s upholstery shop at age seventeen. Painting is an extension of this passion, and my paintings work with design styles from rustic to modern.
During the pandemic I focused on abstract painting and studied it through classes and studio work. Today, I paint large abstract paintings, nature settings, Asian-inspired brush and ink pieces, and 12-inch square "Chiclets" that can be displayed alone or combined to make a gallery wall arrangement.
To help you celebrate your special people, pets, or events, I take on a limited number of commissions each year.
When not painting, you can find me walking in the park or trying whole food, plant-based recipes.
