This is a the 58th installment in the Entanglement series, a collection of little paintings in watercolor and ink that I did in 2013. The series was inspired, partially, by the fact that a dear friend gifted me a big old pile of sheets of watercolor paper, but also partially by ideas about connection. A few repeating motifs came out in the series, and this is an example of one that I think of as sort of a Christmas wreath, with entangled lines and scribbles forming a loose ring with a moment of clam in the center and pulled away from the edges. I especially like the red-lined white shape in the very middle, it feels like an oasis.
