Bianca Roland is an Oklahoma City based, self-taught, multidisciplinary artist. Bianca's art journey began in 2018 as part of her healing from a life-threatening illness, and it quickly became her passion and a driving force in her life.
Bianca's work has been shown in exhibitions in Oklahoma City and is part of a permanent installation Art on Auto Alley in downtown OKC. Her work is collected both domestically and internationally. Bianca has been a member of Art Group OKC, a collective of 70+ emerging artists, since 2019, and became a member of the leadership team in 2022.
Statement
I love detail and color and am inspired by the biodiversity of densely packed ecosystems like coral reefs and rainforests. I like to work with materials that allow me to create intuitively and quickly. I also enjoy the challenge of incorporating upcycled and found objects into my work. I have often been told that my mixed media work looks "delicious", and while they certainly wouldn't taste very good, I can think of no higher praise than that someone would want to eat a piece of my art.
