Pale Ironweed — painted in a wet-on-wet acrylic technique, this piece was inspired by ironweed I photographed in Lacey’s Springs while walking with a friend I met through a native plant group. Ironweed is usually known for its deep purple blooms, but in this case, the color had faded to soft golden and brown tones. It’s painted on standard canvas and ready to frame.
