Cahaba Lilies are rare, native lilies that can only grow in swift, flowing water like the Cahaba in Bibb County. The Cahaba is the only undammed river in Alabama, and at one time these lilies grew in other parts of the state, such as the Florence Shoals. I waded out into the river to photograph them.
