My work explores the idea of home. For some people home is a house or a particular place. My family moved many many times while I was growing up and I came to regard home more as a sense of comfort, safety, and connection. Often it was an unfamiliar abode juxtaposed with the warmth of seeing a light on in the kitchen when I arrived home from school, the smell of my mom's cooking, a familiar piece of furniture in a new room, light streaming in a window, and my dad tucking me in at night. The more we moved, the more it became about having a sense of belonging and connection.
