In my small town, the east end of my street is a gravel road leading across the tracks and away to the north. It is my walking road. There is a drainage ditch that collects water on the left, a farm on the right, and some farm storage buildings further down the road. This painting was inspired by all of these elements, arranged in a way that I hope tells a story of time and place. I am so grateful to be a witness to these small things in my world that, in the end, may not be so small.
