Statement
The path figures prominently in my work, which is about finding a sense of belonging in the natural world while painting itself is a bridge to the spiritual world. I'm inspired by everyday glories, like the weather on a particular day spent in the country, a cat stretching in the sun, or nostalgia.
Exploring the shift between shadow and light, action and silence, and playing off these notions by using color that is neither quite realistic nor fantastical, helps me to continue to develop my personal visual vocabulary.
