The Aleph and the Ouroboros
We begin, on the left, with The One - The Aleph the source of all, a remote and ill-defined image in the darkness of the abyss - "tohu va vohu." (Genesis 1:1). The ouroboros is an ancient symbol of a serpent eating its own tail, signifying infinity and the cycle of birth and death. From this abyss is created the ordered world of daily life animated by the divine spirit.
