The artwork is comprised of 12 carved and branded Jarrah poles, based on the “Lost Island” theme.
The decorative totem poles employ the style and themes of Polynesian tiki carving. The two central taller poles at each entry, feature playful caricature versions of traditional tikis. They are also adorned with elaborate rusted wrought iron head pieces, fit for tiki gods or Polynesian royalty. The other poles expand the theme to encompass imagery of tropical jungle and surf culture, with voodoo skulls, jungle drums, mummies, sharks, fish bone surfboards and other icons from the creepy imaginative world of the lost island.
