Statement
My migration path took me to encounter new people, places, and beliefs and to experience different cultures. During this process my Weltanschauung (world-view) was enriched. It has become my understanding that all humans are equal, and experience the same needs. We share experiences that transcend the form, color, gender, origin, or religion. My art created by observation and memory reveals the underlying individual or community identity, and reflects a sense of place in time.
I use unconventional materials such as sand, burlap; layers of torn paper, fabric collages, found objects, videos, and performances. As an artist I am a communicator, mediator, and interpreter. I continue to identify boundaries to break. human being may be set free. My art is a voice for those that are voiceless.
In the exploratory journey to create effective forms of communication, I discovered the richness of multi-disciplinary collaborations as the new norm in the creative arts. Multimedia installations lead to disciplinary and audience interaction, and build bridges between individuals.
