Tyquencia Vessel is a local art teacher in Baton Rouge who also works with the LSU Museum of Art's Neighborhood Arts Project. She enjoys painting abstract art with geometric designs and vibrant colors. It is an instant mood booster for her and inspires her to continue to be bold in who she is and all that she does. She hopes her artwork “Be Bold, Create” inspires others to be bold and create with joy. She also paints for the creative and mental outlet it offers. As seen in her piece, “Beauty for Ashes,” which serves as a reminder that beauty is waiting to be uncovered, and new life is to be experienced beneath all the darkness and struggles we encounter.
