Artist: Stacey Ridgel
Stacey is a native of New Orleans currently residing in Denham Springs. She is a Business System Analyst by day and self-taught artist in her spare time. She began her artistic journey later in life during the Covid-19 lockdown, seeking a creative outlet during those isolated days. What started with fluid painting soon evolved into a passion for nonrepresentational abstract art. She works primarily with acrylics, watercolors, and mixed media. She’s especially fond of the palette knife, using it to craft bold, expressive marks. Her ever-evolving practice is rooted in exploration—experimenting with vibrant color palettes and fresh techniques. Painting has become an outlet for her creative side, which she is not able to do much of in her day-to-day work. Stacey’s artwork has been displayed and sold through Mid-City Artisans (now closed), and currently at The Artists Loft in Baton Rouge. In 2024, she exhibited with Ellemnop Art. You’ll often find her showcasing her pieces at seasonal art markets throughout Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas, including the Baton Rouge Art Market and Local Pop-Up events.
