Artist: Natasha Sanchez
Natasha Sanchez is a photographic artist, songwriter & performer interested in, inspired by and
continuously exploring the world - particularly the environment we create for ourselves through
our thoughts, perspectives and images. Her unique style shines through in her various
mediums, which include both lens-based and sun-based photographic processes, songwriting
and performing. Her background in cultural geography, history and theatre complements these
artistic channels and influences her eclectic subject matter.
Natasha exhibits her work and performs regularly. She loves creating space for others to
connect and interact with their world. She served as Vice President of the New Orleans Photo
Alliance from 2014-17 where she implemented “2nd Tuesdays at NOPA”, a monthly gathering
of community photoshares, lectures and education. She has led photography and lumen print
workshops since 2013, including at the Contemporary Art Center, the Louisiana State Museum,
New Orleans Public Libraries, and St. Tammany Art Association. She continues to lead
photowalks that create space for exploration and awareness of the world around us. In 2022
she curated an exhibit of environmental photography at the New Orleans Photo Alliance. In the
same year, she created a solar installation & community event series called “Flip the Switch:
illumenating the Power of Nature” that highlights individuals and businesses working with
nature. In January 2025, she released an EP, “Petal on the Metal” a collection of songs that
muses on connections with nature and envisions a world seen through a wider lens. In all of her
work, Natasha strives to illuminate the extraordinary within the seemingly ordinary.
