Artist: Lana Bernard Toniolo
Lana’s connection to Baton Rouge General goes back to the very beginning. She was born at BRG in 1945 and delivered her first child there in 1968. Now a resident of Pointe Coupee Parish, she maintains an art studio at N the Art Space in Baton Rouge.
She graduated from LSU with a math major and English minor, and taught junior high and high school for many years. In her late 30s, she entered the world of art and began studying through books, workshops and classes, including Parson's School of Design in New York City, and under noted artists such as watercolorist Ed Whitney and textile designer Carol Joyce.
She has won awards and shown her work in many venues, including River Road National Art Show, LSU Union 20x20 Show, Brush with Burden, Treasures of Pointe Coupee, N the Art Space, Elizabethan Gallery, and several NYC/NJ galleries.
