“I Live in the Past Through My Paintings”
As a small child born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA, I was fascinated by faces and began to
draw pencil and charcoal portraits of my loved ones. As the years went by, I began painting
landscapes in oil and acrylics. I have a great love and deep feelings for the old south, and
mixed emotions from my life experiences. My motto is “I live in the past through my
paintings”. My grandmother Inez Forét took my small hand as a child and guided my hands to
create my first drawing at the age of seven. What I cannot write I write with my paintbrush. I
take my paint name from my grandmother. She is the reason for it all.
