I have always enjoyed photography. I grew up taking pictures with point and shoot cameras.
However, on a trip to Maine, my mom and I came across a mama moose with her calf in the
most picturesque setting. They were grazing on the edge of a lake with a beautiful forest in the
background. We were in a canoe and did not want to disturb the animals, so we kept our
distance. This meant that my pictures would be from afar. The pictures were good for
memories, but I regretted not getting a closeup. It was after this trip that I purchased a digital
single-lens reflex camera (dlr). I enjoy photographing a wide variety of subjects, such as the
following: night sky, astrophotography, birds, wildlife, landscape, airplanes, macro and
microscopic things.
