Artist: David M. Kors
Working predominantly with still photography, artist David M. Kors offers his take on themes involving landscape, macro, bubble surface and natural world photography. Experimentation is his most valued attribute. He is currently excited about a technique that creates images from intentional camera movement which blurs the image. In many cases the resulting images are similar to paintings. He looks forward to experimenting with this technique and the unique results the camera motion will produce.
Kors was born in 1949 in Springfield, Missouri but grew up as a Baton Rouge native. Working with 35mm film, developing his own slides and transitioning into digital photography he has been involved with the medium for the past 50 years. He is influenced by National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore, most known for his conservation photography.
Kors’ work has been shown in a number of physical spaces including East Baton Rouge Libraries, the Old State Capitol, Cary Saurage Community Arts Center and award winning work at the Baton Rouge General Arts in Medicine exhibit. He was published in 2021 and 2022 in the Royal Photographic Society Creative Eye issues and the 2021 Middlebury, Vermont exhibition catalog. He was chosen to participate in the 2021 Bloom exhibition at the Midwest Center for Photography in Wichita, Kansas.
Kors is a member of the Louisiana Photographic Society at the Master level and a member of the Royal Photographic Society in the United Kingdom.
