A preview of Austin’s Independence Day celebrations. An architectural landmark seen during a dress rehearsal for a light display that cascades down the ‘sail’ of the new Google building by architects Pelli Clark Pelli and STG Design. We saw this brief display on Tuesday while at Barton Springs pool and I thought it would make a fun painting in watercolor. I pushed the clock back to sunset instead of 9:30 pm but still under the famous “violet crown”. Can’t wait to see this backdrop tomorrow when the Austin Symphony Orchestra leads this years 4th of July celebration at The Long Center followed by a spectacular fireworks display above downtown at auditorium shores in Austin.
Happy Birthday America!
