Nafida Mohamed is a booker Prize finalist for her novel "The Fortune of Men". She came to Britain from Somalia at age 4. The novel tells the real-life story of Mahmood Mattan, a Somali sailor in Wales who was falsely accused and hanged in 1952 for the murder of a shopkeeper. "It's a way to return to her father's world as well as a way of processing the death of one of her uncles. Her pose worked so well on the 3D canvas and her story moved me. I will read the book!
