A brave sailboat with full sails passing before a looming storm over the turquoise seas of the Abaco Islands, Bahamas.
My husband loves the sea - any and all open water. I have learned to love it as well over the years and am always amazed at the beautiful colors of the water, especially in the Caribbean. The hues are just amazing. This scene is in the Abacos Islands in northern Bahamas, a beautiful 120 mile long chain of islands known as a boating, sailing, diving and golfing paradise.
I love the juxtaposition of a peaceful sail before a vibrant stormy sky in this image.
To Calmer Waters by Richard Donovan Nov 2014
With all the world in constant motion,
And new adventures to be embarked,
Take your time and enjoy the moment,
Breathe deep and then depart.
When the waves of emotion make you anxious,
Strong like turbulent winds among a stormy sea,
Finding safe passage to calmer waters
Sometimes takes determination, resilience and bravery.
