An intimate capture of the inland ponds and environs on torrefied maple panels (2) matched grain.
Bonavista, 2021.
Torrefied maple is solid wood that has been seasoned and dried in an autoclave resulting in a stable, smooth and durable surface. A process used in 8th C Viking boat building and coveted for instrument makers of this day. The process darkens the maple to a honey toned patina which naturally influences the composition through its materiality.
