Annica, (Impermanence) is the Buddhist understanding that all things are in a constant state of flux. Nothing is permanent, which allows for growth, change, and freedom. Painting plein air outdoors is a constant reminder of this concept. The light changes constantly, the breeze ripples formerly still water and the quiet is suddenly pierced with birdsong. Everything is only a moment in time.
