A heron's grace is a captivating blend of stillness and sudden, purposeful motion, embodied in its serene presence and fluid movements. This elegance is most evident in three key elements: its patient, motionless watch, its deliberate and purposeful stride, and its unhurried, powerful flight. I often see them at the water's edge when I am outside painting plein air. This piece was painted at Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island, Florida.
