Aziz Kibari was born in Béni Mellal, in the foothills of the Middle Atlas in Morocco, where he received a degree in Modern English Literature. He completed an artist residency at the Cité des Arts in Paris in 2007, and has exhibited in Morocco, France, and the US. Aziz’ paintings are in prestigious private collections throughout Morocco, to include at the Royal Palace, the OCP Group (Office Chérifien des Phosphates), and the Ministry of Culture, as well as in Australia, England, France, Germany, Japan, Kuwait, Spain, Switzerland, UAE, and the US. Two of his contemporary paintings are juxtaposed against the traditional setting of the Moroccan Embassy in Washington DC where they “beautifully illustrate, to all our guests, the dynamism and creativity of contemporary Moroccan art” [HH Princess Lalla Joumala]. Employing a unique figurative language, Aziz’ works transport us into the universe of his childhood on his parents’ farm in Béni Mellal, into a sweet nostalgia connected to the land and to community that defends simplicity and innocence. In addition to his works available in Washington DC featured on this page, Aziz Kibari is on permanent exhibit at D&CO Art Gallery and Art Gallery Habib Kibari in Marrakesh, Morocco.

Aziz Kibari est né à Béni Mellal, dans les contreforts du Moyen Atlas au Maroc, où il a obtenu un diplôme de Lettres Anglaises Modernes. Il a effectué une résidence d'artiste à la Cité des Arts de Paris en 2007 et a exposé au Maroc, en France et aux États-Unis. Les peintures d'Aziz font partie de prestigieuses collections privées à travers le Maroc, notamment au Palais Royal, au Groupe OCP (Office Chérifien des Phosphates), et au Ministère de la Culture, ainsi qu'en Australie, en Angleterre, en France, en Allemagne, au Japon, au Koweït, en Espagne, en Suisse, à l'UEA, et aux États-Unis. Deux de ses peintures contemporaines sont juxtaposées au cadre traditionnel de l'ambassade du Maroc à Washington où elles "illustrent magnifiquement, pour tous nos invités, le dynamisme et la créativité de l'art marocain contemporain" [S.A.R. la Princesse Lalla Joumala]. Utilisant un langage figuratif unique, les œuvres d'Aziz nous transportent dans l'univers de son enfance dans la ferme de ses parents à Béni Mellal, dans une douce nostalgie liée à la terre et à la communauté qui défend la simplicité et l'innocence. Les œuvres d'Aziz sont exposées en permanence à la galerie d'art D&CO et la Art Gallery Habib Kibari à Marrakech, au Maroc.
