This copy engages with Caravaggio’s striking depiction of John the Baptist, seated in shadow and wrapped in a vivid red drapery. The painting highlights Caravaggio’s dramatic chiaroscuro, his naturalistic rendering of the human body, and the psychological tension between light and darkness. Through this study, I explored the intensity and immediacy that define Caravaggio’s approach to religious subjects.
