Nay Myo Say, born in 1967 in Yangon, Myanmar, is a prominent Burmese contemporary artist known for his expressive mixed-media works that blend traditional Burmese culture with modern artistic sensibilities. Originally a medical studentat Rangoon University, he later turned to art under the mentorship of U Lun Gywe, one of Myanmar’s most respected painters. Nay Myo Say’s art spans oil, acrylic, watercolour, gouache, and collage, often portraying Burmese dancers, rituals, and spiritual themes that reflect both movement and devotion. His works have been exhibited widely across Asia and Europe, and he’s recognized for his signature “Dancers” series, which combines photography, calligraphy, and vibrant colour layers. Beyond painting, he has also been a singer and runs a well-known Yangon bar called Mr. Guitar, further showcasing his creative versatility.
